Tech stocks in the red after Bernanke comments

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Tech stocks lost more ground in afternoon trading Wednesday after Federal Reserve chief Ben Bernanke said the Fed was "prepared to take further policy actions" on the economy, but didn't elaborate on what steps might be taken. Among leading tech stocks, Yahoo Inc. fell more than 8%, Seagate Technology was off by almost 10% and losses also came from Dell Inc. , Microsoft Corp. and Hewlett-Packard Co. . The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 27 points, or 1.25, to 2,195.
