NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The U.S. will sell a net $364 billion in notes and bonds in the fourth quarter of 2010, according to a survey released Thursday by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association. That's down slightly from third-quarter sales of about $390 billion. The bond market has priced in $500 billion to $1 trillion in asset purchases by the Federal Reserve, SIFMA said. Two-year yields will trade near 0.40% by December, from 0.37% currently, and stay in that range through March, according to the survey. Ten-year yields will fall to 2.40% in the fourth quarter and first quarter of 2011, from 3.68% now. Yields on 30-year bonds , however, will slip to 3.70% by the end of the year, from 4.05% currently.
